Harry Kewell ‘amazed’ by Farke sack news

Despite Leeds remaining active in the transfer window, it is not certain that Farke will remain at Elland Road for the foreseeable future.

The German’s Premier League record is dreadful after failing to keep Norwich City above water on two separate occasions.

As a result, Ange Postecoglou has even been linked with the Leeds job amid Farke’s ongoing speculation.

However, former star Harry Kewell is baffled by the claims that Farke could lose his job at Leeds.

He said: “It just amazes me, like amazes me, how people just sit there and they don’t allow. Look, I know he’s been unlucky on one or two, but he’s got a proper team, he’s got a proper club, just give him the opportunity.

“Like, he can do it, he’s proven it. I know people say, ‘Oh, he can’t do it in the Premier League’ and all that, but I just don’t understand, I really don’t.

“I don’t even get the urge of sacking, I just don’t get it.”

Leeds submit bid for Jaka Bijol

Nevertheless, despite the rumours surrounding Farke, he is still determined to bring in signings.

Leeds are desperate for reinforcements if they are to become the first promoted team in three years to survive the drop.

As a result, Farke wants to sign Jaka Bijol this summer to add more quality to his defence.

The Yorkshire side are set to battle Champions League finalists Inter Milan for his signature.

Now, it has now been reported that Leeds have submitted a blockbuster bid to Udinese for Bijol.

Gabby Agbonlahor fears Brentford relegation

Another important factor in Leeds’ survival campaign is the need for other Premier League teams to get weaker.

Luckily, this appears to be happening, with Brentford losing manager Thomas Frank to Tottenham on Thursday.

On top of this, multiple Bees stars are linked away from the London club after the Dane’s departure.

As a result, Gabby Agbonlahor is fearful that Brentford will be relegated, which could benefit Leeds next season.

He said: “They have to get it right. You know why? I was speaking to a Leeds fans last week and he said ‘Gabby, of the three teams coming up, Leeds have the best chance of staying up.’

“If they do, then who’s going down if Leeds stay up? If you look at last season, Man United and Spurs will get better, West Ham will get better.

“So the likes of Palace, Brighton, Bournemouth have to be careful. If Brentford let too many players go and get the manager appoint wrong, they could easily go down.”
