Leeds loanee Isaac Schmidt’s transfer value about to skyrocket amid ‘shock’ news
The summer transfer window saw Leeds United overhaul their squad in a bid for Premier League survival.
Leeds spent over £100million as Paraag Marathe conducted business, which he thought was enough to keep the Whites in the top division.
Summer signing Noah Okafor has impressed for Leeds, but there were also casualties, as Isaac Schmidt was loaned to Werder Bremen in Germany.
Schmidt didn’t hit the ground running for Leeds after joining from Swiss side St. Gallen, but now it seems Daniel Farke‘s side may finally benefit from the defender, after emerging updates from Germany.

Leeds set to benefit as Isaac Schmidt’s receives green light for game time
Schmidt was seen as healthy competition for Jayden Bogle when he joined the Yorkshire club, as the now 25-year-old was a successful attacking full-back during his time in Switzerland.
Unfortunately for him, Bogle was one of Leeds’ best performers, as Schmidt had no openings to impress Farke last campaign.
- Schmidt played 12 times for Leeds in the Championship
- He never started once for Leeds in the league
- The right-back managed just 71 minutes in England’s second tier
Versatile defender Schmidt has yet to start for Werder Bremen, but according to German outlet Bild, a “shock” injury to his teammate Felix Agu has paved a path for the Leeds loanee to start and gain transfer value.
He will be the first choice during that absence.

Leeds have enjoyed window shopping in the Bundesliga previously, as this opportunity now gives Schmidt the chance to come back to LS11 as a refined player after playing in Germany.
Does Isaac Schmidt have a future at Leeds under Daniel Farke?
Although up till this point it’s seemed unlikely, stranger things have happened in football, as Schmidt could yet stage a remarkable comeback in his Leeds career.

Schmidt scored off the bench in his debut for Werder Bremen, but still hasn’t been able to work his way into the starting lineup.
If there’s ever a chance for him to stay cemented as a starter, it’s now, and even if Farke doesn’t intend to use him in the future, Leeds may benefit from a potential future sale of Schmidt.
