Leeds-linked Fabio Carvalho offered new big-money contract by Fulham
Leeds United target Fabio Carvalho has been offered a new big-money contract by Fulham, according to Football League World.
Carvalho’s current deal at Craven Cottage expires at the end of the season, giving potential suitors the chance to sign an extremely exciting prospect for just a small compensation fee.
Football League World claim that Fulham have made a “final attempt” to make the midfielder stay at the club and want him to sign a new contract before the January transfer window.
The report adds that the Cottagers have offered “big money” to Carvalho in the hope that he will commit his future to Marco Silva’s side.
Lots of potential
Leeds will be watching developments in West London very closely, waiting to pounce if Carvalho decides his future lies away from Fulham.
Of course they face significant competition for the teenager from some of the world’s biggest clubs, but the Whites can show a good track record of developing young talent and will offer more first team opportunities.
Carvalho has enormous potential but has also shown he is capable of excellent performances here and now.
At the start of the campaign, he was being picked to start over more experienced options at Fulham and scored three goals in five games.
A toe injury and then a positive Covid-19 test halted his progress temporarily, but last weekend he started for the first time since August and found the net against Barnsley.
Carvalho surely won’t be in the Championship much longer; whether that means winning promotion with Fulham or moving elsewhere remains to be seen.
In other Leeds United news, a local journalist has claimed that a Whites target is going nowhere in January.
