Leeds have tabled £15million bid Red Bull Salzburg’s Brenden Aaronson
Leeds United have tabled a £15million bid for Red Bull Salzburg attacker Brenden Aaronson, according to The Athletic.
However, the Austrian giants have knocked back the offer for the United States international, 21, but the Elland Road outfit are still determined to sign him in January.
While Aaronson primarily plays as a winger at international level, he has lined up mainly in a central role during his club career, but Leeds see him playing in an attacking midfield role should they land him.

Hope?
The Whites are not the only ones keen on the youngster, with AC Milan and RB Leipzig also interested, but Salzburg’s participation in the Champions League last-16 could block a move.
They face Bayern Munich in February, and they would love to hold on to Aaronson as a result to boost their chances of getting a result against the Bundesliga giants.
Leeds want to strengthen their squad this winter due to their many frequent injuries, and landing the versatile midfielder will definitely come in very handy.
Marcelo Bielsa could end up deploying him in as many as three positions or more, and it is a feature the Argentine always look for in his prospective signings.
Aaronson has bagged three goals and seven assists in 26 appearances across all competitions so far in 2021-22, with 10 goals and 12 assists to his name in all competitions since joining them from Philadelphia Union last January.

He has two goals and one assist in eight World Cup qualifying matches for his country, and he has the quality to improve Leeds in the middle of the park and in attack.
It remains to be seen whether they will return with an improved bid for him, but tabling such amount for him in the first place speaks volumes.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign int’l striker on loan with move already made.
