Leeds footage emerges as staff pulls players away from angry Sheffield United fan
Leeds players had to be pulled away from enraged Sheffield United supporters during Monday night’s win at Bramall Lane.
Daniel Farke’s side took one huge step forward in the race for promotion with a 3-1 victory against Sheffield United on their own turf.
Goals from Ao Tanaka, Junior Firpo and Joel Piroe secured a crucial late turnaround after the Blades had taken a first-half lead, very similar to the encounter against Sunderland.
However, it’s fair to say the home support wasn’t too happy with the way the second half panned out.

Sheffield United fans enraged after what happened v Leeds
Just as the encounter was coming to a close, Sheffield United fans were hoping their side would be able to see out all three points and dethrone Leeds at the top of the Championship.
However, it wasn’t to be with Junior Firpo heading home the equaliser after 72 minutes and Ao Tanaka giving his side the lead later on, sending the away fans into raptures, and the home fans into anger.
Sheffield United v Leeds | Goals | xG | Possession | Passes (Accuracy) |
Sheffield United | 1 | 1.22 | 42% | 238 (74% |
Leeds | 3 | 1.28 | 58% | 367 (83%) |
As seen via a video posted widely on X, a minority of Sheffield United fans entered the field of play just as Leeds were celebrating, with the Peacocks’ security member Martin Sykes seen ushering some of the players away from the angered supporters.
Given the stakes of the game, tensions were raised throughout the encounter and they threatened to spill over on several occasions.
Fortunately, any concerns were addressed before Leeds would go on to score their third goal of the game, securing all three points.

Tanaka proves the difference for Leeds
While he was the scorer of one of Leeds’ three goals, Tanaka’s all-round performance was simply outstanding and without him, it could have been a very different story.
His tenacity and energy in midfield caused the Blades problems all night and his composure to find the far corner with a looping header came at a crucial time in the game.
With Ethan Ampadu out injured again, Tanaka has stepped up on the big stage once more.
Very few will argue against the fact that he has been one of if not the best player in the Championship this season.
