Leeds fans react to Pascal Struijk v Millwall

Carlos Corberan picked a very strong team for the first game of the season for the Leeds Under-23s on Monday.

Millwall were the visitors to Thorp Arch and we thought it was going to be an easy victory for the home side.

It turned out to be anything but as Millwall fought back from two goals down to almost nick a draw.

However, with the last kick of the game a deflected free-kick from Mateusz Bogusz gave Leeds the points.

Helder Costa started the game but it was central defender Pascal Struijk who stole the show for Leeds and showed he’s ready to step up to the senior team if required.

He scored the first goal of the game and put in a dominating performance in what turned out to be a pretty physical game.

He had a couple of nervy moments but made 52 successful passes (over 90% completion), won 18 aerial duels and seven defensive duels, and made three tackles, five interceptions and two clearances. Overall he was the man-of-the-match and Leeds just about deserved the win.

Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans to Struijk’s display on Monday:
