Leeds fans react to Jack Clarke display v Salford

Leeds dismissed Salford from the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night and the 3-0 scoreline reflected the away side’s dominance.

Ben White, Mateusz Klich and Eddie Nketiah were particularly impressive for Leeds in a good team display, but one player was noticeably off the pace.

Jack Clarke, who impressed so much last season that Tottenham signed him over the summer for £8.5m, was the worst player on the pitch for Leeds – and fans were quick to criticise him on Twitter.

One fan said he didn’t look interested while another said if we had to leave one of our six loan players out of the squad, it would probably be Clarke.

That won’t be what Mauricio Pochettino wants to hear with Clarke already looking like he’s going to struggle for starts in the Championship this season.

The big problem for Clarke is that Jack Harrison has had a really impressive start to the season. He looks sharper and stronger since the summer break and Marcelo Bielsa is a fan.

It meant Clarke really needed to grasp his opportunity with both hands on Tuesday night. Many Leeds fans were quick to point out he didn’t:
