'Beast' – These Leeds fans shower praise on first-team star after international display

Stuart Dallas was almost the architect of one of the biggest shocks in the Euro 2020 qualifiers on Thursday night.

Northern Ireland were holding on by their fingertips in a one-sided game against the Netherlands at the De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam.

Then, in the 75th minute, a beautiful bit of skill from Dallas saw him hang a cross up for Josh Magennis to head home for the visitors.

That gave the visitors a shock 1-0 lead and had it stayed like that it would have been Michael O’Neill’s best result in charge.

Unfortunately, after 80 minutes of what can only be called a defensive masterclass, Memphis Depay found an equaliser for the Netherlands.

It was tough for Northern Ireland but much worse was to come. Luuk de Jong then scored in the 91st minute and Depay added another in the 94th to give the scoreline total respectability for the home side, without telling the full story. It left the hopes of qualification for Northern Ireland hanging by a thread.

Dallas was given a 6.9 rating from WhoScored, the second-highest of any Northern Ireland player, and plenty of Leeds fans were loving the contribution from a player who has been a standout for Leeds so far this season too.

Some were also quick to point out that Leeds need to show the same urgency in attack and intent in getting players in the box as Dallas’ teammates did last night.
