Leeds eye Granada boss Diego Martinez as potential Bielsa replacement
Leeds United are interested in Granada manager Diego Martinez and view the Spaniard as a potential replacement for Marcelo Bielsa, should he leave, per Ondacero.
Victor Orta knows the 40-year-old from their time together at Sevilla, and Martinez has grown as a manager since then.
It seems Orta and Andrea Radrizzani are preparing for every possible outcome with regard to Bielsa’s future, as the Argentine has not yet signed a new deal.
He has always waited until the end of the season before putting pen to paper, so Martinez is likely being sought as a potential backup option.
Who is Martinez?
The Granada manager’s CV is nothing compared to Bielsa’s but he is a young manager who seems to be getting better.

He cut his teeth managing Sevilla’s C and B teams before guiding Osasuna to eighth place in the Spanish second division in 2017/18, falling just one point short of the play-offs.
Since then, however, he has got Granada promoted and finished seventh in his first season managing in La Liga.
That meant Europa League qualification, something Leeds are trying to attain.
And this year he led the Spanish side to the quarter-finals, losing out to Manchester United after beating Napoli and Molde in previous rounds.
Despite his low profile he would seemingly be a good fit at Leeds, as he is in a similar stage in his career that we find ourselves in currently.
We want Bielsa to stay, of course, but Granada are eighth currently under Martinez and proving themselves against some of the best teams in Europe.
That is exactly what we hope Leeds can become over the next few years so he could be an exciting addition if Bielsa decides to leave.
