Leeds could be forced to pay a significant fee for Lewis O’Brien
Leeds United have once again been heavily linked with Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien on Friday.
After Conor Gallagher snubbed a loan move to Elland Road, Victor Orta will have been forced to re-enter the market for another target.
Football Insider reported early this morning that the Whites have opened discussions for O’Brien, who is out of contract next summer.

Yorkshire Live have shared their own take on the story now, with their report claiming it would likely take a “significant” offer to turn the heads of Huddersfield.
Interestingly, they also suggest that the 22-year-old is “destined for the Premier League” despite not being the name that may excite many.
O’Brien may be in the final year of his deal, but there is said to be a clause to extend that by another season.
The Terriers are able to trigger that throughout next season, so the Whites may need to move quickly to secure any possible move.

Prime target?
With Gallagher now seemingly off the list, other names are being whittled down to the likes of O’Brien and Yangel Herrera at Manchester City.
El Gol Digital have reported this week that the latter of those two is all but destined to move to Elland Road.
So, with both those options reportedly in the works, it could be a busy month for Orta and Andrea Radrizzani.
Either way, whichever midfield player arrives will have to start on the bench and fight his way up, trying to dislodge Stuart Dallas.
The Northern Ireland international was phenomenal last season, and is no doubt the number one central midfield option at the club, for now at least.
