Leeds consider ‘stunning Daniel Farke sack’ days after Premier League promotion

Daniel Farke’s time as Leeds United manager may be coming to an end this summer.

Leeds United secured promotion back to the Premier League over Easter, with a 6-0 hammering of Stoke City on Monday night.

After the failures in the playoffs against Southampton last season, it was vital for Leeds to get over the finish line this time around, but that may not yet be enough for Farke to stay on as manager.

Farke could be sacked at Leeds United

Farke has been under pressure all season to deliver promotion for Leeds, but despite achieving that, his future is in serious doubt.

That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, which states that his performance with the Whites has triggered thought among the 49ers Enterprises, the owners of Leeds United.

Farke has come in for a lot of criticism this season, and his woeful record in the Premier League is said to be part of the reasoning behind the process for what could be a “stunning managerial change.”

As of yet, there hasn’t been a final decision made, with the 49ers aware of the possibility that his sacking could backfire, though with ambitions of staying in the Premier League.

Leeds may not pull the trigger on the German until they have a replacement in place.

Leeds can do better than Farke in the Premier League

With the gulf in quality between the Premier League and Championship, people always talk about the need for new players and proven players.

However, the same requirements apply when it comes to managers.

Farke has failed in the Premier League every time he has stepped foot in it, and his own failings nearly cost Leeds promotion from the Championship for the second season in a row.

If Leeds are to sack Farke, they need to make a decision quickly, otherwise they risk losing out on a headstart in the summer transfer window, which will be crucial to their hopes of survival.

Two games remain in the Championship, and Leeds will be vying for the title, though those two encounters may prove to be Farke’s last at Elland Road.
