Leeds & Brentford eye bargain deal for winger after club bust-up, cost £11.7m in 2017 - report

Leeds United have been linked with a move for Celta Vigo winger Emre Mor, after he has failed to impress in a loan move to Galatasaray.

The 22-year-old Turkish international has seen his career stall after turning heads and attracting big transfer fees.

He came up through the youth ranks in Norway before moving from Nordsjaelland to Borussia Dortmund for almost £9m in 2016.

A year later he moved to Celta Vigo for £11.7m, where he made 39 appearances scoring one goal.

This move signalled the start of the downward spiral in his career and the Sun reported that Celta Vigo wanted rid of the player in the summer over his attitude.

Instead, he moved to Galatasaray on loan where he’s not impressed, making just three league starts, and he could be on the move again in January.

Turkish outlet Fotospor claim Leeds are interested but there’s concern behind the scenes about signing a player direct from Galatasaray given the animosity between the clubs.

That’s definitely there but we’d be buying a Celta Vigo player, not a player owned by the Turkish club. It’s still an issue though.

Sky Sports (Transfer Centre, 8.22am) claim that Leeds’ promotion rivals Brentford are interested as well.

Sky claim his value had plummeted to £5m last summer but Mor took the loan move instead of a permanent deal. The first half of this season could have seen his value plummet even further.

However, the reports of his attitude are very worrying. Last summer, the Sun said Celta Vigo were so fed up with him they’d let him leave for free.

That really doesn’t sound like the sort of player we want at Leeds, even if his stats show that he takes on more dribbles than both Lionel Messi and Allan Saint-Maximin, two of the highest scorers in that metric across any of the European leagues. [WyScout]

It might make him a bargain buy but what would the actual cost be?
