Lee Trundle gushes over Joe Rodon after what Leeds United ace said about 2-1 win v Plymouth at Elland Road
Lee Trundle has waxed lyrical about Joe Rodon after the Leeds United loanee starred in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Plymouth at Elland Road.
Rodon, 26, made his 12th appearance of the season for Leeds as they kept the pace with the Championship’s top-two, thanks to first-half goals by Dan James and Joel Piroe.
After the game, Rodon took to his personal Instagram account to hail the “important three points” won against Plymouth, leading to ex-Leeds loanee Trundle replying in the comments.

“What a player. One of our own,” said the BBC Radio Wales pundit, who played on loan at Leeds from Bristol City in 2009.
What a player, indeed
Rodon’s been an inspired signing for Leeds.
The Wales international joined on loan from Tottenham in the summer and although it was quite a big step down for the ex-Swansea defender, it was something that was needed in terms of his career.
Rodon joined Spurs in 2020 but struggled in North London.
Last season, he went on loan to Rennes in France and got his career back on track but when he returned to Tottenham in the summer, it seemed that he wasn’t in the plans of Ange Postecoglou.

It’s understandable and it’s since been justified by the Premier League club’s impressive form with Cristan Romero and Micky van de Ven at the back (before they were both injured and banned against Chelsea this week).
Rodon may be a bit too good for the Championship, however.
Leeds signed a few players like him in the summer with Djed Spence also coming over from Spurs on loan and also Ethan Ampadu joining permanently from Chelsea.
You wouldn’t expect any of those three players to stick around if we don’t go up this season.
In other Leeds United news, Marc Roca sent a message to this Elland Road ace after what happened in the win over Plymouth.
