Lee Hendrie blown away by Cody Drameh v Arsenal

Lee Hendrie was impressed by Leeds United right-back Cody Drameh’s display against Arsenal in the 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat.

Marcelo Bielsa handed the 19-year-old his first-team debut on Tuesday night at the Emirates, and he clearly made an impression on Hendrie.

Speaking on Sky Sports Main Event during the game, the former Aston Villa man lauded Drameh for his display, and he was one bright spark from an under-par display from the Whites.

“He’s done really well; he’s got forward, his passing has been brilliant,” said Hendrie.

“Take credit, young man.”

Solid as a rock.

The former Fulham defender has been in and around the first team for a while, but he was finally handed a chance in the first team, and he didn’t disappoint.

Drameh looked as if he had been playing Premier League football for most of his career and tried to provide an outlet down the right.

He was also solid defensively, and you have to say he can hold his head up high after such a solid debut.

Now, given that Luke Ayling is still injured, could we see Drameh start against Norwich City on Sunday?

The Canaries have yet to win a game, and he could provide more threat down the right than Stuart Dallas or Jamie Shackleton.

Certainly, he has given Bielsa a decision to make as the Whites look to secure a win that should push them up the table.

If Drameh plays like this going forward, he should have a long and successful career in the Premier League.
