Lee Dixon slates Leeds United fans

Lee Dixon has questioned Leeds United fans for complaining about Arsenal’s second goal.

Speaking on the BBC, the former Gunners defender was confused why the away end seemed to be complaining to Andre Marriner about Eddie Nketiah’s goal.

Substitute Liam Cooper tried to head the ball back to Illan Meslier but didn’t get enough on his header, and Nketiah stole in and scored.

However, for some reason, some Leeds fans were complaining, and Dixon was baffled by this.

He said: “The Leeds fans are complaining about something; I’m not sure what it is.

“It’s a header back that’s miss-headed.

“Nketiah just gets there first, touches it over the goalkeeper. His shot is from right on the edge of his foot; he very nearly missed it.”

A sloppy goal from Leeds.

Both of the goals that the Whites conceded were sloppy, but this one was the worst of the lot.

Cooper’s header was awful; it was as if he didn’t know how far away from goal he was or that Nketiah was behind him.

However, it does seem odd that some Whites fans were complaining because there was nothing wrong with the goal.

Now, Dixon might have just got the wrong end of the stick, and the Leeds fans could have been angry about the defending, which would make a lot more sense.

There wasn’t too much to separate the two sides for a lot of the game, but Leeds will reflect on two poor goals as the difference, while down the other end, Bernd Leno was in good form.

It is a shame that Leeds’ cup run ended like this, but now they have to focus on the Premier League and look to push up the division.
