Lee Bowyer shares Elland Road admission ahead of Leeds United v Leicester, Ray Parlour reacts

Lee Bowyer believes Elland Road will be “rocking” for the Leeds United game against Leicester City on Friday (23 February).

Speaking on talkSPORT on Friday (08:55am), Ray Parlour said Daniel Farke’s side have been in “brilliant” form as he admitted Elland Road was one of the hardest places to go as an away player, with Bowyer adding that the stadium is “unreal” under the lights.

The former Whites midfielder believes anyone watching the clash against the Foxes will be “in for a treat”, while he also predicted the promotion race to go right up until the last game of the season when Leeds face Southampton.

“The stadium will be rocking tonight,” said Bowyer. “The top two playing against each other, trying to close the gap against Leicester. Two very good sides, two attacking sides. I think we’re in for a treat for tonight’s game.”

“The form has been brilliant, hasn’t it?” replied Parlour. “They’re missing a few players Leeds, but they’ve got some great players that can come in there. There are people on the bench there that can change games as well. The squad itself is very exciting at the moment. For me, it was one of the hardest places to play when I was going away from home. Elland Road was always a really tough place to play.”

“Especially under the lights, the place is unreal,” added Bowyer. “Win, lose or draw, all they care about is that you give everything. It’s really working at the moment, they’ve won the last eight games. They are in such a good place and, if they can nick another win tonight, who knows what might happen.

“But I think it’s going to go right down to the wire. Southampton are in amongst it, Ipswich are in amongst it. Southampton play Leeds the last game of the season. I think it will go to that. They are both flying and they are both very good teams.”

Elland Road could be huge for Leeds United

There is a special atmosphere at Elland Road when the big games come around and the clash against Leicester is certainly one of those occasions.

While Leeds are currently flying at the moment, they are going to need the fans to get right behind them as they go in pursuit of a huge three points.

It would not only extend the gap to Ipswich Town and Southampton behind them, but also claw back some points on the Foxes’ lead at the top of the table.

Farke’s side have already shown they can beat them this season after coming away from the King Power with a 1-0 victory earlier in the campaign.

Although one game isn’t going to decide their fate in the battle for promotion, a win could increase the confidence of the side even further.
