Larry Nance Jr shares Leeds United perk that 25,000 others find a ‘nightmare’

Leeds United investor Larry Nance JR revealed one of the benefits he receives at Elland Road.

Now that Leeds United are gearing up for a season (hopefully more) back in the Premier League, optimism levels are rather high.

The Whites look set to spend big in a bid to prolong their stay in the Premier League, and that alone will be enough to entice even more supporters to back Leeds once the new campaign gets underway.

However, with the level of supply and demand for matchday tickets, thousands of supporters are forced to watch their side at home, in a situation that doesn’t affect Nance Jr.

Leeds investor gets access to Elland Road tickets

Leeds United have one of the biggest and best fan bases in the entirety of English football, though that level of backing often comes at a cost for those who can’t attend regularly.

With Elland Road usually a sell-out, and 25,000 supporters on a waiting list for season ticket holders, it has become increasingly difficult for Leeds supporters to gain access to match tickets, though the same cannot be said for Nance Jr, who symptathised with those who can’t attend via an interview with the New York Times (15 May).

He said: “We have 25,000 people on the season ticket waitlist. It’s a nightmare. So yes, you get in.”

With that said, Elland Road is due for an expansion in the near future, which will hopefully open the door of possibility to thousands of other supporters to watch their team in person.

Leeds have a huge summer ahead

As good as Leeds United’s fanbase is, that will not be enough to cement their status in the Premier League for a long period of time, though it will help.

This club deserves to be among the footballing greats, and to prolong that stay, Leeds must recruit well this summer and back Daniel Farke with players capable of improving the team.

It is going to be a massive few months for the Whites, and they can’t afford any margin for error when it comes to recruitment decisions and planning.
