LAFC hint they’re about to sign Mateusz Bogusz from Leeds United with Twitter video clip

Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Bogusz is set to complete his move to Los Angeles FC and the MLS outfit have dropped a major hint on Twitter.

UD Ibiza confirmed (24 March) that they had reached an agreement with Leeds for the cancellation of his loan deal with a move to the MLS in the pipeline [Mo Ibrahim, 21 March].

The Athletic journalist Phil Hay writing on his personal Twitter account on Friday 24 March revealed that Leeds are expected to announce the exit of Mateusz Bogusz once his move to LAFC is confirmed and that now looks even closer as LAFC dropped a hint to their fans.

Posting on their personal Twitter account [31 March], the MLS giants posted a video clip of a box with a fresh new LAFC hat inside which may well be handed to their new addition, signed and sealed.

They wrote: “Here we go.”

Inevitable

The youngster’s switch from Ibiza to LAFC now looks almost 100% completed after the MLS side’s new Twitter post and it’s a move which seemed inevitable on Ibiza and Leeds United’s part.

Bogusz had been a regular for the Spanish side in recent times, but clearly wants a new challenge after almost two seasons and nearly 50 caps at Ibiza.

Leeds United

That doesn’t appear to be at Elland Road, having only made three senior appearances for Leeds upon his move to the club in 2019.

A move away from the club has always been inevitable for the versatile attacking midfielder with a deal looking suitable for both parties, and a new venture in the MLS could very much kickstart his career again.

With Bogusz undoubtedly eyeing a place in the Poland senior squad after representing his nation at various youth levels, he may well still have a prominent career to come at international level too with the Pole national coach Fernando Santos already turning to the American League for players. Good riddance.

In other Leeds United news, Premier League rivals have jumped on a late hijack attempt over a deal that was on the brink of bringing a permanent signing to Elland Road.
