Kris Moore update at Leeds United as Hibernian wait for takeover news

Kris Moore’s potential loan move from Leeds United has been delayed as Bill Foley waits for the green light in his quest to purchase a minority stake in Hibernian, according to Daily Record.

The newspaper reported in its print edition [17 January, page 44] that Bournemouth’s billionaire owner is planning to pump around £6million into the Scottish club, aiming to purchase a minority stake.

This is affecting Moore’s loan move to Easter Road Stadium, with the bid being dependent on being “rubber-stamped” by the Scottish FA before presenting to a set of Hibs share-holders next month.

“A decision on whether to make a loan move for Leeds defender Kris Moore, who joined them in Dubai, has been delayed,” Fraser Wilson wrote for Daily Record.

Much-needed loan move

Those at Elland Road will be aware of Moore’s talent, deputising at centre-back, but his lack of first-team experience is a blaring aspect of his current CV.

The 20-year-old joined Hibs for their warm-weather training in Dubai and will have already been given his first taste of men’s football, having only experienced academy football with Leeds.

He has made close to a century of appearances across three levels at Leeds Under 18s, Under 23s and Academy. There is absolutely no chance of playing for the first team under Daniel Farke without some more experience first.

This is why the loan move to Hibs is vital for Moore’s development, which is why the delay to the club’s investment by Foley should worry the young defender.

Moore has the chance to learn from 543-appearance Lewis Stevenson and 542-appearance Paul Hanlon at Hibs as they look to maintain their spot in the Scottish Premiership playoff spots.
