Kris Boyd applauds Stuart Dallas heroics 48 hours after slamming Leeds and Bielsa

Kris Boyd has applauded the heroics of Stuart Dallas despite his double in a 2-1 Leeds United win over Manchester City leaving him with egg firmly on his face.

The ex-Scotland striker had a stinker on Saturday when he tore into Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds on Sky Sports [12:00, 10/04/21], as relayed on Football Daily’s Twitter.

“I think there is a lot of overhype as well when you take into consideration what Leeds are spending, there’s a lot of people having their best season ever,” he said.

“All we hear is Marcelo Bielsa’s this master tactician but Chris Wilder did the exact same last season.

“When you take into consideration what Leeds are spending I think they could even be doing better.

“They spent nearly £100million in the summer coming up.”

But 48 hours after those remarks Boyd was found in the comments section of the Leeds hero who stole the points at the Etihad Stadium.

On Monday morning Dallas posted a photo of his celebrations versus Manchester City on his personal Instagram profile, captioned: “Special feeling. Special team @leedsunited.”

Boyd replied underneath with three clapping emojis but he was met by a barrage of Whites supporters who derided his weekend remarks.

One fan even posted the comment on Twitter and said “something’s not adding up here.”

Is this Boyd attempting to curry favour with Leeds fans or just a simple message to a mate?

Well a (very brief) investigation into the followings of Dallas and Boyd on Instagram shows that they are both mutual acquaintances on the popular app, so unless the Cookstown Cafu gave him another timely reminder with a follow after Boyd’s comments, we can deduce that they have a prior relationship of sorts.

We’re not sure where that derives from given that they have never shared a club together but it appears to check out.

But Boyd must have expected to be given both barrels for his message of support just days after hitting out at Leeds in a lazy on-air claim.

It was just another outlandish attempt to twist the narrative on Bielsa and this Whites side which is making more than a fist of it on the club’s return to the big time.

Boyd won’t find any sympathy from us as supporters rain on his mentions to remind him of his remarks.
