Key condition emerges as Newcastle may submit bigger transfer bid for Leeds United attacker Jack Harrison in January

Newcastle could reportedly look to explore the possibility of signing Leeds United attacker Jack Harrison once again in the January transfer window.

According to TEAMtalk journalist Graham Bailey, they could submit a bigger bid than the one they did in the summer for the Englishman.

However, any offer would hinge on the 26-year-old’s form with his last goal or assist coming in August despite making a total of 13 Premier League appearances.

Bailey said, “Another forward to play on the left is very much an option. They loved Jack Harrison in the summer, but his price was way above their valuation. They could increase their offer, but only if he rounds into form.”

Cash in?

If Newcastle are willing to offer close to what Manchester City paid for Kalvin Phillips then it makes sense to cash in on him.

The 26-year-old has struggled this season and it can be argued that with everyone at full fitness, he may not even be a regular starter anymore.

With Crysencio Summerville playing as well as he is, keeping him out of the side is nigh on impossible and Luis Sinisterra would be starting once football resumes.

The Colombian has been injured but has used the World Cup break to recuperate and will be fit towards the end of December.

This will mean that Harrison may be on the bench as Brenden Aaronson will play as a ten and one of Rodrigo or Patrick Bamford leading the line.

It could be the ideal window to cash in on him, but it seems unlikely given his lack of form that the Magpies will be able to shell out big money on him.
