‘Keep him around’, ‘Cost big money’ – Many Leeds fans split over future of rarely-seen ace

Leeds United go into their Tuesday night clash with Luton Town at Elland Road with very few injury worries.

Patrick Bamford and Helder Costa are expected to be fit after appearing to pick up knocks, and Pablo Hernandez has admitted he is ready to start if needed.

One player that will definitely miss the game is Jean-Kevin Augustin, who is currently nursing his second injury since arriving at the club.

The Frenchman’s loan deal at Elland Road expires at midnight on Tuesday and there has been little said about his future at the club.

Bielsa confirmed that he is continuing to monitor Augustin after being asked whether or not he will play for the club again this season – not exactly convincing.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay shared an update on the 23-year-old on Tuesday, claiming he “very much doubts” Augustin will extend his stay in West Yorkshire.

Leeds have already confirmed that their other loan players such as Illan Meslier, Ben White, Jack Harrison and Helder Costa will be at the club until the end of the season.

The silence surrounding the future of Augustin doesn’t fill anyone with confidence that the RB Leipzig loanee will be sticking around.

Many Leeds fans have reacted to the update on Tuesday, with the group certainly divided as one even suggested cutting their losses and going after Southampton’s Che Adams again.

Adams would reportedly be available for as little as £10million in the summer, so it could be the more reasonable deal for the Whites.
