Leeds United will most likely keep Dan James at the club beyond this summer transfer window, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

The Sky Sports journalist has reported that despite the want of another forward, as well as interest from Spurs, the Welsh speedster will be going nowhere.

James started the 3-0 win against Chelsea last time out in the Premier League and will be looking to keep his spot against Brighton on Saturday afternoon [27 August].

Speaking live on Sky Sports during their club-by-club round, as shared on their blog, Solhekol dropped the latest news that he has heard in the last 24 hours.

“Leeds United want another forward and it looks like they’re going to keep Dan James,” he said.

“Tottenham were interested.”

No matter what you think about James, Leeds don’t need to sell anyone.

The winger has shown he can be a brilliant weapon both on and off the ball for the club, and we are finally in a position where our squad depth is helping us.

Jesse Marsch alongside Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani have strengthened this squad immensely, and that is being translated into our performances with senior players able to come off the bench.

Under Marcelo Bielsa for around four years, we can’t remember many games where we actually had a decent bench, so this is the change we have been crying out.

Losing that slightly by selling James, a player who has the pace that few only dream of, would be a stupid decision, especially to another Premier League side.

Time to move on from this one and only concentrate on maybe bringing in another new face, forget about anyone going the opposite way – that isn’t happening.
