Kaveh Solhekol: Leeds United need to get rid of players with multiple new transfers on cards

Kaveh Solhekol has shared all of the latest transfer news coming from Elland Road as Leeds United get ready for the new Premier League season.

The Sky Sports journalist has insisted that multiple new additions are still on the cards in West Yorkshire as Jesse Marsch looks to build his squad up.

It is also shared that while new faces are wanted, there is a need for some of the current squad to be moved on with exits also on the table as things stand before September 1st.

Speaking during the Monday Transfer Round Up live on Sky Sports [01 August], as shared on their live blog, Solhekol shared the latest from Elland Road.

“Leeds United still open to making new additions, but also need to move players out,” he said.

Business.

Football is very much about finances and you cannot keep bringing players in for fees and new wages without getting rid of some of the current crop.

Helder Costa and Ian Poveda were both on the bench against Cagliari on Sunday evening [31 July], but neither got onto the pitch as they look set to leave.

With Kiko Casilla also seeing his contract come to an end through mutual termination, that is also more funds saved for the club to use elsewhere.

Jesse Marsch has taken a good look at his squad during pre-season and Leif Davis was another to be deemed surplus to requirements as he moved on to Ipswich last week too.

With a new left-back and striker both needed, we may see some more outgoings before any progress is made on that front with two new arrivals on the cards.

All eyes are on Thorp Arch and Elland Road this week.
