Leeds United winger Dan James is a man in demand as the transfer window enters its final couple of days, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

The Sky Sports journalist has reported that an exit for the Welshman is now “touch and go” at Elland Road, with a deal currently unlikely as things stand.

Spurs are one of those said to be interested, leaving Jesse Marsch and the player himself to make a decision his immediate future with the club.

Speaking in Sky Sports’ daily transfer update for Premier League clubs, as shared on their live blog, Solhekol shared the latest on a potential big-name exit.

“Dan James is in demand,” he said.

“Spurs have been interested this summer, but we’ve been told it’s touch and go whether there will be a deal, unlikely at the moment.”

No Chance.

Marsch has worked hard alongside Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani to build a squad packed with depth in most areas, so letting one player leave makes no sense.

James certainly splits the fanbase, but he is a real weapon for anyone – with Antonio Conte and Spurs’ interest just more proof of that if you needed it.

The Welsh speedster can obviously play out wide, as a number nine and even a wing-back if needed, so why on earth would you move him on? Unless for silly money, something you won’t get from Spurs and Daniel Levy.

Leeds need to be concentrating on bringing in a new striker themselves, never mind letting anyone leave so don’t count on this one happening if you are one of those who would be happy to see it.

With Everton coming to Elland Road on Tuesday night, it would be a great time for James to hand out a reminder of what he can do with a big performance and goal in a win.

Finger crossed.
