Karen Carney makes Leeds United and Jesse Marsch admission after what she saw v Liverpool

Karney Carney believes that Leeds United had all the answers in their game against Liverpool as pressure was mounting on Jesse Marsch.

The American went into the game under tremendous pressure with the Whites not having won a game since August.

However, they put in a spirited performance and ended up winning it 2-1, courtesy of a late goal by Crysencio Summerville.

Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show (31/10, 14:17), Carney said, “There was pressure on Marsch but Leeds had all the answers. Liverpool really did not look at their best. They were 12 km down against Leeds.”

False dawn?

Leeds cannot be winning one off games and then go on a dry spell for the next few weeks.

They have to be consistently picking up results along the way as that’s the only way Marsch will prove that he deserves to have the Elland Road job.

A bad result against Liverpool could have seen his time at the club ending, but a win does not mean that all the sack talk now vanishes into thin air.

Two and performances now before the World Cup could see things go from bad to worse for Marsch and the Leeds board must be ready with their replacement regardless.

The new manager, if the American is sacked, can use the one month break to get used to life at Elland Road and can use it as a pre season.

They did not take much time in getting Marsch over the line once they sacked Marcelo Bielsa and need to have a similar plan in place for the American as well.

In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports pundit has delivered Jesse Marsch’s “sack” verdict after what he heard last month.
