Karen Carney delivers verdict on Leeds United relegation amid Burnley resurgence

Karen Carney believes that the fixtures do not look good for Leeds United as they’re embroiled in a relegation battle this season.

The Whites appeared to be edging towards safety until a few weeks ago but things are looking different now.

Mike Jackson has done wonders at Burnley after replacing Sean Dyche and the Clarets have leapfrogged Leeds and are favourites to finish 16th.

Discussing this development and the Whites’ survival chances, Carney said on Premier League Productions, “I say Leeds have got a difficult run in. Seeing their fixtures, it doesn’t look good. They looked out of it a few weeks ago.”

Staying up?

Leeds do not have their fate in their own hands, as things stand.

They need Everton to go on an awful run of results and hope they manage to pick up some points from their final four.

The games aren’t going to be easy as they’re squaring off against Arsenal – who are gunning for a top-four finish.

After that, they take on the Champions League holders in Chelsea and that’s not going to be an easy game.

Realistically, the only points they can pick up are from Brentford and Brighton – both of whom have had better seasons than Leeds and are also in decent runs of form themselves.

It is going to be a struggle and Jesse Marsch knows that he will have failed if he does not keep Leeds in the top flight

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could look to sign a ‘Phenomenal’ attacking midfielder this summer as he’s already bid farewell to fans of his club.
