Kaoru Mitoma sends message as Leeds United deal finalised
Brighton and Hove Albion attacker Kaoru Mitoma has sent a message to new Leeds United signing Ao Tanaka after his move to Elland Road was confirmed.
Tanaka posted an image to his Instagram page announcing his move after the club had been vying for the Japan international’s transfer for some time.
The midfielder plied his trade in the 2. Bundesliga and will no doubt help shore up Daniel Farke’s midfield as the season goes on.
Mitoma commented three ‘fire’ emoji’s on his fellow countryman’s post, which shows his approval of the move.
Ao Tanaka is a stellar addition for Leeds United
Leeds’ team has undergone a lot of change throughout the summer transfer window with the vast majority of the club’s ‘best’ players exiting Elland Road.
One of the biggest shocks of the window was that of Archie Gray leaving the Whites despite only spending one season playing senior football.
Indeed, the £40million that the West Yorkshire outfit received for Gray [Yorkshire Evening Post, 5 July] was an incredible deal but it left fans wondering who would fill the void.

That’s where Joe Rothwell and Jayden Bogle came in. Whilst both Bogle and Rothwell play in different positions, the 18-year-old covered both roles last term.
Glen Kamara was also shown the exit door which is who Tanaka will likely be replacing.
The Japan international offers a different style of play to the Finnish ace and will no doubt positively impact Farke’s squad.
Only time will tell whether the deal will work out but, for the reported fee of £3.3m that Leeds paid [Yorkshire Evening Post, 30 August], they can’t go too far wrong.
In other Leeds news, an attacker could be allowed to leave the club.
