Kalvin Phillips shares Instagram reaction after Leeds return in 2-0 loss v West Ham

Leeds United crashed to a frustrating 2-0 defeat in their Premier League clash against West Ham on Monday evening.

The result didn’t tell the full story though, with Jesse Lingard and Craig Dawson scoring the only two goals at the London Stadium.

There were plenty of positives to take, with Kalvin Phillips and Rodrigo returning from injury to feature for the Whites.

Phillips has taken to his personal Instagram account on Tuesday, reacting as he finally returned to the starting XI in midfield.

“Great feeling to finally be back on the pitch last night,” he said.

“Frustrating result but we learn and go again. Fully focused on next Saturday’s match.”

To say that Leeds have missed Phillips would be a massive understatement, he is critical to everything that the Whites have done in the Premier League.

Phillips came back into the side and instantly was the standout player on the entire pitch, despite the scoreline ending at 2-0.

No outfield Leeds player finished with a better passing accuracy according to WhoScored, as his ability on the ball instantly made the Whites better than if Pascal Struijk was there.

Having Phillips back was an unexpected boost for this game, and his reaction clearly shows that he has come through the clash without injury and should be ready for Chelsea on Saturday.

Marcelo Bielsa builds his squad around the midfielder, and he will be a constant figure between now and the end of the season; there is no doubting that.
