Kalvin Phillips sends five-word message ahead of Leeds v Wolves
Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has posted a message on Twitter ahead of their Premier League clash with Wolves this weekend.
The Whites will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Bruno Lages’ men on Saturday at Elland Road.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat against Southampton in their previous game and were at their worst.
Phillips was rested during the game against the Saints, and chances are high that he won’t start against Wolves as well.
The England midfielder, however, has shared a positive message on Twitter saying – “Can’t wait to be back”.
Must win game for Leeds
Bielsa has revealed in the press conference today that Phillips needs more “football training” as he hasn’t played for three weeks.
He has been training to regain physical sharpness, but the game may have come too soon for him. In all probability, Bielsa could still use him from the bench if required.
The Argentine has suggested that the past week had been “one of the most difficult” for him during his time at Leeds. He has urged his players to keep the hope going and has suggested that collectively they need to find solutions to counter the errors.
Leeds have picked up just one win so far in the league, and they are nowhere near the quality they showed last season. The squad depth is an issue, and with several key players out injured, Leeds are struggling to cope.
Wolves, on the other hand, made a poor start to the season, but they appear to have picked up the momentum, winning their last three games in the Premier League.
In other Leeds United news, Raphinha’s shared a one-word update that causes concern on Twitter and leads to Phil Hay replying.
