Kalvin Phillips reaction caught on camera as he’s told he’s not as good as Declan Rice

Kalvin Phillips clearly begs to differ with a football fan after the Leeds United midfielder was told he’s not as good as West Ham’s Declan Rice.

Phillips, 24, has been tipped to play for England in the near future [Independent] and could replace the Hammers midfielder in Gareth Southgate’s plans after such a strong season at Elland Road.

The Leeds defensive midfielder is currently on holiday with a few other players in Spain to celebrate the club’s Championship title success as well as promotion back to the Premier League.

A video clip on Twitter has since emerged of what we assume to be a West Ham fan telling Phillips he’s not as good as Rice.

And, although Phillips didn’t say anything back to the deluded football fan, the 24-year-old’s face said it all about what he thought of that claim.

Phillips is one of the best defensive-midfielders in English football, even though he’s not played in the Premier League yet.

Rice is a good player but he’s hardly had a great season at West Ham and if Southgate was to pick an England team to play tomorrow, we bet that he’d go with the in-form Phillips over the out-of-sorts Rice, who has been widely criticised for his displays for England.

Phillips is older than Rice but he has been managed by one of the best coaches in world football.

Marcelo Bielsa has trained Phillips to the point where he’s being linked with Liverpool [Bleacher Report].

Would any of the Premier League’s top clubs touch Rice right now? We doubt it, but they would all surely take Phillips if there was even a remote chance he’d quit his boyhood club Leeds.

In other Leeds United news, this Leeds sensation is set to agree a new three-year deal at Elland Road.
