Kalvin Phillips arrives at Elland Road as ex-Leeds United star linked with Manchester City exit

Former Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips was spotted at Elland Road ahead of the clash against Birmingham City.

The Manchester City midfielder arrived in West Yorkshire in time for the Championship meeting at Elland Road on Monday (1 January).

According to The Independent (30 December), Serie A giants Juventus are in talks with Manchester City regarding his signature.

A Leeds academy graduate, Phillips spent eight years in the first team, making over 200 appearances for the Elland Road club.

As shown in an image by X user @jimmy_L_UFC, Phillips is in attendance as his former club prepare to take on Birmingham in league action.

Jan exit incoming

Phillips was a hero at Elland Road, with the midfield ace starring in white for several seasons, both in the Championship and the Premier League.

But as is often the case with such players, he was destined for bigger and better things, with English giants Manchester City coming in for the midfielder last summer.

It hasn’t, however, gone to plan at all for the Manchester outfit or for Phillips, with the England man largely watching on from the bench during his time there.

He has, however, kept his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, but that may not last for much longer if the lack of club football continues.

And that should be enough to convince Phillips to make an exit from the Etihad this month, with the player certain to have plenty of suitors.

Juventus are seemingly keen on the Three Lions man, but it would be foolish to rule out a Premier League transfer for the 28-year-old.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are in contact to sign a £5.2million left-back in January already.
