Kalvin Phillips and Leeds United in ongoing talks for new contract
Leeds United and Kalvin Phillips are in ‘ongoing contract talks’ over a new deal that would keep him at Elland Road, according to The Telegraph [June 7].
The Whites midfielder has been linked with an exit from the club, with Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester United [MEN] among the clubs said to be interested in a deal.
The England international has already publicly stated that he wants to stay at Leeds however having grown up as a Whites fan, and it seems as though things are on track for that.

Writing in The Telegraph, they said; “The England midfielder is high on the list of Man City’s transfer targets with Liverpool also thought to be monitoring the situation. Aston Villa have also been linked with the 26-year-old but Leeds are in ongoing contract talks with Phillips and an exit is not guaranteed.”
Phillips currently has two years remaining on his contract at the club but an apparent fee of £60m would certainly tempt the board into a sale to then reinvest the cash into Jesse Marsch’s squad.
Ongoing
There’s been no suggestion all summer that the club have been actively trying to sell Phillips, but £60m is a lot of money and the clubs that have been linked are generally able to offer things that they can’t.
But if the player is keen to stay at Elland Road then Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta should be doing anything and everything they can to tie him down to fresh terms.

Loyalty deserves to be rewarded and a player of that quality doesn’t come around at a club like Leeds too often. He’s remained professional throughout and wants to stay.
He is an England international and is completely deserving of fresh terms and a big pay-rise, considering he’s still on a contract that he signed when the club were in the Championship.
Things could change, but it seems as though whether he stays or goes is completely in our hands at this stage.
In other Leeds news, the club has a “clearer run” when it comes to the race for this £13m rated South American forward
