Adam Pope has mooted the possibility of Jurgen Klopp becoming Leeds United manager after a recent Red Bull announcement.

The former Liverpool manager has taken up a new role with the Whites' shareholders that will see him oversee coaching as he advises the teams across the energy drink giant's multi-club model [talkSPORT, 9 October].

Although it is unclear just how much influence Klopp will have at Elland Road, BBC journalist Pope has suggested that the German succeeding Daniel Farke is "not beyond the realms" of possibility at Elland Road.

Speaking on Don't Go To Bed Just Yet (14 October, 24:40) he said: "If Leeds get back to the Premier League, they're a great draw for any manager aren't they?

"But if they're in the Premier League then does that become a viable alternative should they want to make a change? I don't know.

"From a footballing point of view, you've got a manager who did an unbelievable thing at Anfield, then becomes steeped in the way that Red Bull wants to run having advised them and then decides, 'I fancy a bit more club football because the Germany job is beyond me'.

"It's not beyond the realms is it?"

What will Jurgen Klopp do for Leeds United at Elland Road?

It is safe to say that Pope has extrapolated quite a bit from what is just an announcement that may not impact Leeds United or Farke that much in the long run.

The current Leeds boss appears to be fairly settled at Elland Road and while he will of course come under pressure if the Whites don't win promotion this term, it seems unlikely Klopp would be the man to swoop in and save the day.

On the face of it, the German appears to be holding out for the German national team job and while he may well change his mind in the coming years and months, it seems unlikely that a move to Leeds would be tempting enough.

Ultimately, it feels like the only way this would truly happen is if Red Bull had full ownership of the Whites and they were back in the Premier League.

Even then, it would be a surprise to see Klopp decked out in Leeds kit in the home dugout at Elland Road.
