Leeds United have all but wrapped up a move for Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo, and his wife appears to have dropped a big hint.

The defender’s partner Julia Torralbo took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of their daughter in a plane, tagging it “Bon Voyage”.

Leeds are set to announce Firpo as their first first-team signing of the summer, and it seems he has brought his family along for the unveiling.

The Elland Road outfit confirmed the departure of Gjanni Alioski today, and while that breaks our hearts, getting a capable replacement in the former Spain youth international helps soften the blow.

Firpo’s career has been stunted at Camp Nou since he joined from Real Betis two summers ago, with Jordi Alba’s perfect understanding with Lionel Messi on the field of play hurting his chances of getting regular action.

Leeds are giving him the chance to get his international career back on track having watched some of his teammates at youth level become key members of the senior national team, and we expect him to grab it with both hands.

The 24-year-old was one of the best left-backs in the La Liga during his days at Betis, and Barca reckoned he could give Alba a run for his money after Lucas Digne failed to.

The Frenchman has since become a very influential player for Everton, and Firpo can follow in his footsteps.

Not many would have believed Leeds would be signing a Barcelona player, but such is the influence head coach Marcelo Bielsa wields, and we cannot wait to see the talented full-back in action.
