Junior Firpo reacts as Pascal Struijk sends Leeds United message

Junior Firpo is out of contract at Leeds United in the summer but he seems to be all in on their promotion push.

The Whites suffered a setback on 29 March as they drew with Swansea while Burnley and Sheffield United secured victories.

Those results left Daniel Farke‘s side in second place but level on points with the Clarets, albeit with a significant goal difference advantage of nine.

The race for the Premier League will be filled with twists and turns but Leeds will be desperate to avoid a repeat of last season when they missed out in heartbreaking fashion.

Firpo reacts to Struijk message after Leeds promotion wobbles

Leeds have struggled to enhance their grip on an automatic promotion spot in recent weeks but Struijk seems to still believe that they have enough.

The Whites skipper took to Instagram (2 April) to alleviate supporter fears and fire them up ahead of what promises to be a tense run-in.

His message read: “A few more finals… Let’s do this together” then the ‘Marching on Together’ hashtag.

Junior Firpo reacted to the message by liking the post, suggesting that he is all-in on the Whites’ push despite his contract situation.

Leeds need to improve results as the season concludes

The Whites have won just one of their last five matches in the second tier and have seen their comfortable margin at the summit disappear as a result.

They need a quick turnaround in form to avoid another devastating collapse at the business end of the campaign and Farke may have to do something drastic like dropping Illan Meslier to make sure his side can get over the line.

Farke’s side has a concerning away record, dropping points in 11 of their 19 matches on the road and that needs to improve with four of their last seven matches coming away from the comfort of Elland Road.

Their next two games are visits to relegation strugglers Luton Town and playoff-chasing Middlesbrough and the Peacocks need to win both, otherwise their promotion rivals may already be out of sight by the time they face each other.

The Whites need their key players to step up or they may be forced to go through the playoffs, which has historically not gone well for them.
