Junior Firpo ranks alongside Messi and Haaland after what Leeds United ace did
Leeds United ace Junior Firpo has ranked alongside Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland for his match rating for the Dominican Republic during the international break.
The 28-year-old featured for his country in two clashes against Antigua and Barbuda, scoring three goals.
The Whites star stood out with his performance on 12 October which SofaScore has handed him a 9.5 rating for.
In a post to Instagram on 16 October, it has been revealed that the Leeds defender performed as well as Haaland for Norway and just 0.5 behind Messi who was rated 10 for his showing against Bolivia.
Leeds United ace Junior Firpo ranks alongside Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland
The former Barcelona man was in excellent goalscoring form for his country in a surprise turnout for the Leeds defender.
In his time at Elland Road since joining from the La Liga giants in July 2021, Firpo has scored just three goals and equalled that tally during the international break.
This saw him grab three goals in two games in the CONCACAF Nations League with one being a cheeky panenka penalty.
It has to be said that for the Dominican Republic, Firpo features further forward than he would under Daniel Farke which helped him get on the scoresheet.
This saw him feature as a left winger during the break but when he returns to Championship action, he will be slotting back into the defensive line.

It is certainly amazing to see a Leeds star mentioned in the same list as the likes of Messi and Haaland who are obviously two of the best players in the world.
The Elland Road faithful will be hopeful that Firpo can bring this form back from international duty to give the Whites a boost.
