Junior Firpo does it again as development away from Leeds United shared

Junior Firpo has scored again for the Dominican Republic as the Leeds United ace continues his unexpected upturn in form in front of goal.

The 28-year-old piled on the misery for Antigua and Bermuda, scoring his side’s fourth goal in the CONCACAF Nations League tie on Tuesday (15 October).

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Joe Donnohue shared the developments on his X account and even coined a new phrase for the Whites full-back.

He said: “Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to inform you Junior Firpgoal has done it again.”

Junior Firpo can breathe a new lease of life to Leeds United

Firpo has been nothing short of extraordinary on international duty for the Dominican Republic and has now scored in consecutive fixtures against Antigua and Bermuda.

The left-back scored an expertly executed Panenka from the penalty spot in the 5-0 win on Saturday [12 October] and has been rightfully earning his plaudits away from West Yorkshire.

This, of course, comes on the back of the in-form defender’s goal for Leeds in the 3-3 draw with Sunderland prior to the international break.

Daniel Farke will love what he sees from the Whites’ defender. He seems a man on a mission since he was slammed for his reaction in the aftermath of the Sunderland draw after Illan Meslier failed to deal with a deflection in the 97 minute leading to a late equaliser and Firpo own goal.

Leeds will need the whole squad to stick together in the coming weeks with a tough run of fixtures ahead, starting with a Yorkshire derby against a high-flying Sheffield United side.

With the ongoing injury crisis at Elland Road, Firpo will have his work cut out for him – not only maintaining his high standards but also remaining injury-free.

Firpo will be a huge contributor for Leeds this season and if he carries his new-found goalscoring form into the Championship, he could become even more of a pivotal player in the bid for Premier League promotion this season.
