Junior Firpo could miss Leeds United clash v Watford as 48 hour window emerges
Junior Firpo is at risk of missing the Good Friday Championship clash between Leeds United and Watford, according to Leeds-Live.
Writing on their website (15 March), the news outlet report that the left-back faces a race against time for the fixture as he is due to feature for the Dominican Republic on international duty.
They are set to kick-off their final game of the break at 1am UK time on March 27th, which is just 48 hours before Leeds are set to travel to Vicarage Road for their clash with Watford.
That small window, plus the flight back and training means it’s unlikely that he will be available from the start for the game in a blow for Daniel Farke.
Major blow for Leeds United
Leeds have been in magnificent form since the turn of the year and a large part of that has been the form of left-back Firpo.
With five assists in 17 games he has been crucial in the final third, but his relationship with Crysencio Summerville and the natural width he provides by being left-footed has also been fantastic.
If he is to play for his new national team during the break, then the chances of him returning to action just two days later after a long-haul flight are slim to none.

It should provide an opportunity for Sam Byram to come back into the side and his performances this season have also been solid, so Farke will be confident that he is able to cope.
But it’s still a major blow at this stage of the season to lose a player who is considered to be first-choice for any reason, so Leeds will have to find a solution.
In other Leeds news, one pundit has tipped the Whites to lose this “tremendous” player in the summer.
