Junior Firpo called ‘Terrific’ after what he did for Leeds United v Coventry
Bryn Law was left stunned by Leeds United defender Junior Firpo as he set up Wilfried Gnonto perfectly for the opening goal against Coventry.
Brenden Aaronson sent a ball out wide for Firpo who glided the ball towards Gnonto, who placed it in the top corner to send Elland Road wild on 28 September.
Speaking live on LUTV (28 September, 15:17 pm) Law hailed the pass from the Dominican Republic international.
“What a finish from Gnonto,” he said. “He let the ball roll across his body and then just placed it right up into the top corner of the net.
“Terrific ball to find him as well, that is a quality goal.”
Leeds United are back to winning ways
The Whites were one of the many Championship teams who changed their squad an awful lot during the summer transfer window.
Many of the club’s top scorers left such as Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter which left many questioning whether they had what it took to win the league with their new arrivals.
It has been reported by Ben Jacobs that the Whites are in fact happy with their attacking options for the season and today, Gnonto has shown why [GiveMeSport, 27 September].

The winger has been in solid form so far and there’s no doubt that the West Yorkshire outfit would have been far worse off without him if he’d joined Everton in the summer [The Athletic, 6 August].
It’s still early days of course and the Whites’ season has been far from perfect but after their 2-0 win against Cardiff and their potential victory against Coventry, it’s hard to see why the West Yorkshire outfit can’t challenge for the title this term.
