Leeds United have now been offered Atlas striker Julina Quinones with a major transfer now on the cards, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported on its website that the Colombian hotwire would seal his second permanent move of the summer if a switch to Elland Road went through.

Quinones has only just made his move to Atlas permanent after spending the last season on loan and smashing in 15 goals on the way to the Mexican league title.

Leeds are said to have switched their attention to Quinones with Charles De Ketelaere finally set to complete his move to AC Milan in the coming days.

Described as a “huge” blow, it is shared that the Whites have already moved on as they look to strengthen in the final third for Jesse Marsch.

Victor Orta is hard at work with Quinones capable of playing out wide as well as through the middle, something which could offer Leeds many outlets.

On top of this, Gerardo Melin has shared that he was announced to him that the 25-year-old is already on his way to Leeds to complete his move in the past 24 hours.

Closing in?

The more these links appear, the more it looks like we could be bringing yet another piece of South American flair to the Premier League this summer.

Mexico isn’t anywhere near the level of the Premier League, but to smash home 15 goals and guide your team to the title along the way, it isn’t too bad.

This could offer the perfect level of competition to Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt, with the senior England international likely to start the season as number nine.

Quinones offers something both of those don’t, raw speed and that is something that gives us a new dimension in the final third in games and can be a real weapon.

This certainly isn’t the big-name or big-money signing we expected like De Ketelaere, but it is an option that can strengthen this Leeds side and possibly even open the door to another striker arriving.

Keep your eyes peeled for this one, and maybe even more in the final third.
