Journalist tips Crysencio Summerville to be worth £20m+ amid recent Leeds United form

Crysencio Summerville could be worth more than £20million in the current market based on his recent form for Leeds United, according to Dean Jones.

Speaking to GiveMeSport on Tuesday (24 October), the former Eurosport journalist said that fee would be “generous” and a “bargain” for any potential suitors of the 21-year-old.

He added that you could see the “magic” in the Dutch winger when he first broke into the Whites team and that it was “significant” for him to score a double in the 3-2 victory over Norwich City on Saturday (21 October) for him to feel part of the side.

“You see him tipped to be a player worth about £20million-£25million,” said Jones. “To be honest, I think that’d be generous. It would be a bargain if you could snap up somebody like this. Even when he made his introduction to this team, you could see the magic that he had in him.

“I like players like this anyway, and for Leeds, it’s so important that he has managed to find this form. So, to get that double was significant to him to feel part of where they’re heading right now. He could have left in the summer and easily pushed harder for it. But he decided to stay part of this and try to get Leeds up.

“That was a massive result for them at the weekend because it wasn’t going well at one stage. So, to turn it around shows what this team is about on a mental level and what they can produce on the pitch. Players like Summerville are key.”

Pivotal

It’s pretty clear that Summerville is emerging as a pivotal player for Leeds this season after registering four goals and two assists in nine Championship games.

The winger adds plenty of pace and trickery to the Whites attack and there is simply no way they would have beaten Norwich without him.

They will be desperate to keep hold of him in the January window after other clubs were rumoured to be interested in signing him during the summer.

He would surely cost at least £20million and it would come down to whether the Dutchman wants to leave and if the West Yorkshire club feel as though they need to cash in on him.

But he appears to be pretty content with life at Elland Road at this moment in time and, as long as he continues to feel that way and the team continues to improve on the field, he should remain part of Daniel Farke’s side.
