Journalist thrilled after what Leeds United sensation Willy Gnonto did to Tranmere Rovers fans this week
Leeds United youngster Willy Gnonto continued to make headlines as he reportedly found up the Tranmere Rovers fans on Tuesday night.
Playing for the Under-21s in the Papa John’s Trophy, the Italy international was part of the team that won 5-3 after being down 2-0.
According to Yorkshire Evening Post’s Joe Donnohue, he was also booed off by the home support when he was withdrawn in the dying stages of the contest.
Via Twitter, Donnohue wrote, “Wound the crowd up good and proper. Technically adept, strong on the ball, intelligent when he needed to be.”
Got something about him
Gnonto is making the headlines real quick since his move to Elland Road on transfer deadline day and now is in line for his senior debut.
He has done everything right since joining as he’s getting on the score sheet for the junior sides, starting games for Italy’s senior sides and then annoying opposition fans with how good he is at the game.
It’s not long before Jesse Marsch sits back and takes note of the talent he’s got on his hands and we cannot wait to see him play for the senior side.
He is obviously a step closer after making the bench against Aston Villa and we will really be surprised if he does not get a chance to prove his worth against Crystal Palace.
We’re astonished at just how good he is at the tender age of 18 and few years of the right coaching could see him become one of the best young talents in the game.
Leeds may have got a real sensation on their hands here and it’s important that they give him the right amount of game time.
In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports pundit has reacted to the ‘Awful’ footage that has emerged from the Aston Villa contest.
