Journalist shares medical update as Leeds United want Georginio Rutter transfer
Leeds United are reportedly now a step closer to signing Hoffenheim forward Georginio Rutter in the January transfer window.
According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, the striker will now have his medical in the next 48 hours as the Whites look to get this one over the line.
The final talks and paperwork formalities are scheduled for 9 January before the deal can be made official.
Via Twitter, Plettigoal wrote, “News #Rutter: Deal is close to be finalized! Last talks and paperwork’s tonight. Medical planned in the next 48 hours. Transfer package in total between €30-40m confirmed. Long-term contract. Hoffenheim will release him. Massive transfer for Leeds!”
This is big news for Leeds and they should be proud of getting this done so quickly with initial links only emerging a few days back.
The process for them usually has been long drawn and it’s taken ages before they finally get things going and get a signing over the line.
While this one is also not yet completely done, there is a feeling that all parties want this one to happen and it’s unlikely to fall through as things stand.
Rutter’s goal-scoring record may not be the best but certainly there is something to the striker as to why Leeds are hell-bent on securing his services.
We cannot wait to see him in action regularly and hopefully he is registered in time for the next round of Premier League games over the weekend and that does give the club about four days to sort out all the formalities.
We’re also hoping that he hits the ground running and drives the Whites to safety as they do need a game changer in the final third.
