Journalist shares Leeds United manager update as particular profile eyed
Leeds United are reportedly looking at a very specific profile of manager as they continue their hunt to find Jesse Marsch’s successor.
According to I Paper journalist Mark Douglas, this has led to the Whites missing out on decent names as they do not align with the club’s philosophy.
They want a manager who can work best with their current crop of players as they’re fighting a relegation battle this season.
Via Twitter, Douglas wrote, “This is a good point. Leeds are wedded to a profile so are sticking to someone who can work best with the group they have. But ignoring some decent candidates in the meantime.”
Sacrifice in the short term?
Leeds fans may not mind a slightly pragmatic manager if he’s only here on an interim basis and his main job will be to avoid relegation.
Most of the managers Leeds want to appoint are in work currently so they’ll be easier to bring in over the summer.
The new manager will come in on a short-term contract and if he gets instant results, it will be a more comfortable situation at Elland Road.
This could even fast-track the potential sale to the San Francisco 49ers and they can then bring in the manager of their choice in the summer.

The likes of Arne Slot and Marcelo Gallardo are likely to be available once the season ends as the former will have given it a go at a title challenge.
The latter may be out of work but is currently on a sabbatical and is expected to return to football in the summer rather than taking a job mid season.
