Leeds United summer signing from West Ham Sonny Perkins has reportedly been impressing behind the scenes since moving to Elland Road.

According to Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton, the 20-year-old who has hit the ground running since joining Leeds has left a mark in Thorp Arch.

They’re believed to be happy with the way he’s adapted to life in West Yorkshire.

Thornton told Give Me Sport, “Yeah, Perkins in particular, he’s hit the ground running since he came in.

“Leeds have been really impressed with him; he looks like he’s a real talent. So, I know that they’re really, really pleased with the way that he’s adapted. He’s really caught the eye and done well.”

Headline maker

Perkins has been in the headlines recently for his exploits with the England under-19s.

Only in the last week, he’s scored four goals and provided an assist in just two games and is already getting everyone to talk about him.

That’s not just the case internationally as he’s proving to be a phenomenon at Thorp Arch as well and Leeds need to be proud of getting his deal over the line.

West Ham were playing hard ball and accused Leeds of tapping him up like that does not happen with almost every transfer in the modern age.

They were probably just gutted to lose a player of his calibre and now we all can see what they’re missing out on.

David Moyes even gave Perkins his senior debut at West Ham which shows just how highly rated he is and we’re expecting big things from him in the coming years.

In other Leeds United news, an Elland Road-linked midfielder is now certain to leave his club in the coming weeks as a host of Premier League clubs are vying for his services.
