Journalist reacts to Leeds United potentially signing Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa

Beren Cross has said that Leeds United signing Joaquin Correa from Inter Milan appears to be a good shot, but unlikely at the same time.

The LeedsLive journalist was asked on a Q&A session if the club could bring in the 28-year-old and he appears to have spilt water on those links.

Correa may not be a regular starter, but he does come off the bench regularly for the Serie A giants, played in five out of six of their Champions League games this season and Leeds are unlikely to be able to convince him to leave.

Cross wrote, “Correa’s a nice shout, but he’s playing fairly regularly from the bench with a Champions League-chasing Inter.”

Too audacious

It’s going to take some doing for Leeds if they manage to convince Correa to leave Inter and move to Elland Road in January.

What’s more realistic and that’s what Leeds are doing is to target strikers at mid-table clubs who do not have too many lofty ambitions.

Someone who can get them five or seven league goals and be a consistent goal threat and also manages to stay fit is what Jesse Marsch would ideally want.

It also remains to be seen if they can manage to sign Georginio Rutter as he does appear to be priority number one for the Whites.

His price does appear to be inflated and that could be the reason why the move falls apart but if that happens, Correa and any other striker can be forgotten about.

Hopefully, we get clarity over any potential incomings over the next few days and it’s important that they get the job done sooner rather than later.

In other Leeds United, the Whites are closely involved in the bidding for an international striker and are even prepared to spend £14million to secure his services.
