Journalist reacts to footage of Leeds United loanee Brenden Aaronson from United States v Oman
Trey Wallace has slammed the Oman wall for allowing Leeds United attacker Brenden Aaronson to score a direct free kick goal.
The US side raced to a comfortable 4-0 victory on Wednesday (13 September) with Aaronson, who’s on loan at Union Berlin, scoring the second goal of the game.
The poor positioning of the wall made things easier for the 22-year-old to slot the ball into the back of the net for the Americans.
Via Twitter, Wallace, an OutKick-FOX journalist wrote, “Not much of a ‘Stunner’, but I’ll take the @USMNT goal from Brenden Aaronson. Horrible defender wall from Oman.”
Leeds return?
Aaronson is someone who Marcelo Bielsa also wanted at Leeds in the January window of the 2021/22 season.
However, that did not happen and everything appeared to have been arranged on the final day of that season when the Whites avoided relegation.
Since his move to Elland Road, the American has struggled to make a single position his own and wherever he’s played, he’s struggled a great deal.

There was also a clause in his contract to leave on loan after relegation and he made the most of it to seal an exit as quickly as he could.
The Whites signed three midfielders this summer and if they get promoted, they need a better calibre of number 10s than Aaronson so the American could be sold.
It must not come as a surprise if the Whites do decide to part ways with the 22-year-old next summer.
In other Leeds United news, a Whites player now faces over 12 weeks out of action due to injury if the worst-case scenario takes place.
