Journalist: Impossible for Leeds United to sign Charles De Ketelaere in January

Leeds United will find it almost “impossible” to sign AC Milan attacker Charles De Ketelaere in January, according to Alexandre Braeckman.

The BelRTL journalist has suggested on Twitter that there’s “nothing to report” on De Ketelaere at the moment after TEAMtalk reported on Wednesday (23 November) that the Whites have made contact with AC Milan to keep them informed about the situation of the player.

James Marshment replied back by saying that Milan do not have any intention of letting him leave in January.

Braeckman wrote on Twitter: “Nothing to report, almost impossible to do to be fair.”

No chance

Leeds tried hard in the summer window to sign the 21-year-old attacker from Club Brugge, but the Belgian international had his eye set on joining the Serie A giants only.

The youngster eventually made his move to Milan in a big-money deal, despite the fact the Whites were prepared to meet his asking price.

It has been a difficult start for him as he hasn’t been able to meet the expectations so far in his time at the San Siro.  As a result, the Whites have been in touch with Milan to enquire about the club’s plans for the youngster

Both Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch like De Ketelaere a lot and the club will do their best to bring him to Elland Road, even if it is on loan if they get any indication that Milan are willing to let him go.

But as it stands, Milan are unlikely to send him out on loan. He is a talented player and the club will give him more time to settle down properly.

The Whites will be looking to bolster their forward department in January, and it would be wise to check options elsewhere.
