Josuha Guilavogui immediately reacts to Leeds United debut v Plymouth

Josuha Guilavogui received praise from Adam Pope on social media following his immediate reaction to his Leeds United debut against Plymouth.

Pope posted on X to laud the Frenchman, who alongside Charlie Crew and Sam Chambers made his debut for the club in their 3-0 win over Argyle at Elland Road on Saturday 2 November.

The BBC broadcaster said Guilavogui mentioned the teenage duo immediately before himself after Daniel Farke rotated his squad.

Pope wrote: “So dominant that three players could be afforded debuts.

“Guilavogui’s first reaction was to mention Chambers and Crew before himself. Says a lot about him.”

Guilavogui showed his experience as he helped Farke’s side manage the game after a superb first-half showing from the Whites against Wayne Rooney’s side.

Struggling Plymouth had no answer to goals from Dan James, Joel Piroe and Brenden Aaronson as the home side closed the gap to table-toppers Sunderland to three points.

The seven-cap French international had the refreshing humility to mention Crew and Chambers before himself, with the two Thorp Arch graduates having waited patiently to be introduced.

And it could not have come in more ideal circumstances with the game won, the Elland Road crowd jubilant, and experienced heads such as Guilavogui there to offer guidance despite his unfamiliarity with the club.

His signing as a free agent helps his career out considerably, but could not be a better tool for Farke with his squad options having diminished due to injury woes.

He could be crucial.
